General Information & Responsibilities

Black Hawk College seeks a Physical Therapist Clinical Coordinator and full-time tenure-track Instructor. Position is scheduled to begin in August 2021 (fall semester).

Position will be located at the College’s Quad – Cities Campus in Moline, IL.

Description of Duties

Full-time faculty teach 30 equated hours (average of 15 equated hours for fall and spring semester). Instructors will teach and provide office hours.

Faculty member is expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate syllabi; by developing lectures, discussions, and other presentations or activities to enhance the student educational experience; develops and executes appropriate methods of evaluating student performance; develops, secures, and maintains the equipment and other instructional materials essential to the presentation of the classroom material.

Education & Experience

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant program and licensed in a U.S. Jurisdiction; holds a current license/certification to practice as a PT or PTA in any United States jurisdiction.  A minimum of three years full time (or equivalent) post licensure clinical practice with either two years’ experience as a Center Coordinator of Clinical Education/Clinical Instructor OR two years’ experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a PT or PTA education program. Must possess demonstrated oral English proficiency for classroom instruction.

Supplemental Information

Minimum starting salary for full-time faculty is $42,436 per year. Full-time faculty have a base contract of 9 months and are paid over 12 months per year. Base load is based on 30 equated hours per academic year. Starting salary is commensurate with education and experience.
Any instructor hired at Black Hawk College will be required to submit official transcripts at his/her own expense. Transcripts, once submitted, become property of Black Hawk College.
