Great Plains Health is seeking multiple Medical Technologists in North Platte to perform analysis of clinical specimens, providing accurate information to physicians, assuring the quality of test data, and providing physicians with information on the validity and significance of test results and procedure development. Perform testing according to procedure, including appropriate specimen and complying with all age specific related requirements, and phlebotomies and urine drug screens, including sp cial collections. Report results in accordance to specimen priority and with appropriate quality assurance and quality control. Demonstrate safe and competent use of equipment and software to carry out duties, including accurate entry of patient and specimen information into software systems (Sunquest and Eclipses). Perform testing to ensure instrumentation operates within established guidelines, including maintenance and troubleshooting. Provide appropriate turnaround of laboratory testing and communicate with caregivers when delay occurs. Actively participate in improvement of lab quality indicators and outcomes and in professional organizations and/or training. Assist in writing and documenting new procedures and implementing new instrumentation and review procedures. Maintain inventory levels and receive, label, and restock inventory. Assist with orienting students and new employees, as required. Full-time employment, requiring a minimum of forty (40) hours per week, with extended and “on-call” hours, as needed. Requires Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or closely related field with medical technologist certification from ASCP (preferred) or AMT.
