Job Description
The director assumes responsibility and accountability for all administrative and operational functions regarding the safe provision of patient care in the department. They demonstrate the integration of a system theory approach through assessment, goal setting and outcome evaluation. They ensure that the on-going functions and patient care provided meets regulatory, professional and specialty standards and requirements. They are responsible for assuring that all staff are competent to accomplish the assigned duties. They hold fiscal accountability for the department budget.
They must possess the managerial and leadership capabilities to promote professional autonomy and growth among all staff, and to provide an environment for medical and nursing collaboration for provision and efficient and effective patient care. They participate in other multidisciplinary teams to achieve and promote the hospital’s mission and goals. They function in the role of administrator as described in the Illinois home care licensing rules and regulations.
